Belema and Chip’s reception was one of those that as a DJ & MC, we wished it never would have ended. Well worth the 8 hour drive to Oklahoma from Houston. Great atmosphere, wonderful guests, and a fun and energetic couple that weren’t afraid to touch the dance floor. The guests were unlike any other, you would have thought the home team was entering for the final game of the playoffs from the liveliness exuded in the room when the couple entered. They made their way in amid cheers to the dance floor for their first dance of “Closer I Get to You” by Beyoncé & Luther Vandross. They had a surprise for their guests (as we created a signature first dance mix) that lead into “Apache/Jump on It” were Chip & Belle got to show off their playful side.
After dinner, we did the toasts and cake cutting and then Belle danced with her dad to “Daddy” by Beyoncé and then Chip and his mother danced to “Mother” by Kem. Next up-open dancing! These folks hit the floor ready and willing to party! We loved it.
This was a very unique reception and it left a long lasting impression on everyone. The distinctive cultural wedding traditions incorporated into the night were characterized by lots of colors (beautiful headpieces and jewelry worn by the women), cultural festivities, and several money dances which reflected Belle’s heritage.
YES! It was raining 10s, 20s, and we think we saw a couple 100’s and they took the blessings (lol) out in trash bags (the big black ones).
