Giles/Hackbath Wedding - October 22, 2011

Steven and Amanda had their reception at Heaven on Earth in Missouri City. We always enjoy going to this venue because it feels so much like home and the hospitality is awesome!

The reception started with the intro of the bride and groom with "Let's Get It Started" by the Black Eyed Peas and followed by a smooth transition into their first dance “Never Gonna Be Alone” by Nickelback. This is one of those songs that can bring back so many memories and feelings you can relate too, a great alternative selection. Before the formalities started the guests dined on the good-looking food from the buffet and sipped on drinks from the bar.

After dinner and the cake cutting Amanda and her father danced to the oldie but goodie” Soulful Strut” by Grover Washington. Amanda told us her and her father had danced to this song since she was young and it was very special to them. Then Steven and his mom danced to Rod Stewarts, “Forever Young”. Right after that we opened the party with the “Cupid Shuffle” and took a trip down memory lane with several old school selections. We played some crowd favorites like “Play that Funky Music“ by Wild Cherry and dropped some two step hits in with “Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy”.

One thing we especially liked about this couple is that from the first time we met them you could hear the energy and anticipation in their voices. The couple didn't even get to their finish dinner because the guests were dancing throughout the buffet and pulling the newlyweds to dancefloor with them. Loved it! They gave us full control of the party and we were able to play whatever crossed our minds. Amanda and Steven told us their guests were coming from far and wide and they wanted to party and a PARTY is what they got.

The bride and groom exited the building to ”Making Memories Of Us” by Keith Urban as they departed it sounded as if the party had picked back up outside the venue as the guest shouted their farewells to the departing couple. You would have thought there was a Super Bowl game being played as the place rumbled from the crowds cheers! Great guest, energetic couple, with the mix of our good music closed out another signature wedding.

Fraase/Pepper Wedding - October 15, 2011

We met Kristi and Ryan a little less than two years back at one of Heaven on Earth's Open Houses that we participated in. They attended the open house with their parents and you can tell that both families were really adamant about having not good, but great entertainment for their reception. We also found out that both parents were big ballroom dancers and they wanted to incorporate plenty of west coast swing, jive, and more. They booked on the spot and we went to work with our in-depth research of ballroom music.

Krisiti and Ryan went all out with there wedding and rented the whole grounds of Heaven On Earth and after the ceremony they hosted their cocktail hour in the San Francisco Room where they guests were able to mix and mingle while sipping on the fabulous cocktails while the newlyweds took pictures. Shortly after we prepared the bridal party for the introductions and the guests proceeded into the main reception room. After all the guests entered we started the introductions to "Say Hey (I Love You)" by Michael Franti. Right after the introductions the newlyweds proceeded into their choreographed waltz to "You and I" by Ingrid Michaelson. This is the second week in a row that we have played one of Ingrid's songs for a couples first dance, if you haven't listened to her album check it out. Directly after Kristi danced with her father to "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw and Ryan danced with his mother to Paul Simon's "Loves Me Like A Rock". After all the great dances the buffet line was open and the guests couldn't wait to show their moves on dance floor and started dancing as soon as the formal dances ended.

We had some great toast and the newlyweds cut their cake and we officially opened the dancefloor and was jammed packed from corner to corner the whole night. We got incorporate many ballroom dances songs, 80s, and new era top 40. One of the many highlights of the night was when played "No Diggity" specially requested by the bride for her mother and her mom mouthed every word to the song. We had a great time and the night ended with the couples last dance to "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO while the guest crowded around them and shuffled with the couple till to the last note of the song.

We should be finished with video soon and the pictures are from Randy Bradley of Original Images.

Ngyuen/ Meadows Reception – October 14, 2011

Our good friends, Chi and Michael celebrated their union (which was in Aruba!!!!) by having their reception on a lovely Friday evening at the Northwest Conference Center. The Northwest Forest Conference Center settled on 100 gorgeous rural acres in Cypress, Texas, provides a unique balance of rustic charm, natural beauty and first-class amenities. The reception was held in the courtyard of the La Terraza where we set up our booth along with the blue décor lighting under the gazebo . This is one event we had been looking forward to for a while. Why you ask? Because we were booked for this event as soon as the couple had got engaged. Chi who was a close friend and consociate of ours had worked with us at one of our previous venues and when we met her we clicked instantly. Not to later we met Michael and the couple always came off cooler than a pina colada on a breezy Sunday in May. Chi prepped us ahead of time by letting us know that her family were not the biggest dancers and we had our work cut out for us, but we here at Signature Eventx are always up for a challenge.

While the guest mixed and mingled for cocktail hour we played a good mix of island and tropical music which included artists like UB40, Bob Marley, and Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. After the majority of the guests had arrived we prepped the newlyweds for the grand entrance and Chi and Michael came in grinning from ear to ear to “Is This Love” by Bob Marley. We proceeded straight into dinner and the couple greeted all their guests. After that we had the toast from Michael’s grandmother and a very special toast by none other than Signature Eventx’s own Dj Regg. Then the newlyweds shared their first dance of the evening to” Love Actually” by Lynden David Hall from the Love Actually Soundtrack and after the first chorus all the couples joined the newlyweds on the dance floor. Right after that, we opened the dance floor and we have to say at first it was a challenge, but by the end of the night we had everyone on the dance floor rocking, fist pumping, and jumping to the music and it turned out to be a great night! We closed the night out with the couples last dance to “Love you till the End” by The Pogues and song with great lyrical content. We can't wait to get the pictures from the reception and when we do we will post asap.

Thanks Chi & Mic for letting us be the entertainment for your reception and we wish you the best together forever!

Arel/Smith Wedding - October 07, 2011

Candice and Jason tied their vows at Heaven On Earth and the reception was held in the vintage style reception room. We brought the bridal party into the instrumental song "Cristofori's Dream" by David Lanz from the Twilight Movie. Right after the introduction the bride and groom shared their first dance of the night to Michaelson, Ingrid's, "The Way I Am". This is the first time we played this song for a first dance, but we definitely will be incorporating this song into our dinner playlist.

Candice danced with her father to "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw and Jeremy danced with his mother to "I Hope You Dance" b Ronan Keating a very good remake. We opened the dance floor after that then the bouquet was tossed to "Girl's just want to have fun" and the garter to "Bad to the bone".

We loved the blue and orange color scheme of the night and as usual we tried to match it. The guests of the couple were great and very interactive and the eye popping pictures are from Rebecca and Justin of R and J studios.

Here is a link to their website if you want to check out more of the great pictures from their website.

Rodriguez/Miles Wedding - October 1, 2011

This was a busy weekend for us we had several events (open houses and weddings), but they were all worth the time and effort. Thomas and Stephanie were an amazing couple and we have to say, we were really looking forward to this one. We met with and talked to Stephanie about her desires for the aura of the day and we clicked at first introduction. She told us this was gonna be a great party…and she didn’t disappoint! She let us know the agenda for the night and she emphasized that she didn't want any slow music during the reception and we were Ay okay with that!

The day started at Ouisie's Table Restaurant where we provided the orange accent lighting and audio for their gorgeous ceremony and reception. Ouisie's was the perfect setting reminiscent of houses that encouraged conversation and the restaurant itself is beautiful, with a romantic southern country club feel. The ceremony was held outside in the herb garden and the weather was kindly accommodating for a beautiful Saturday evening wedding. After the ceremony the guests proceeded into the dining area where the appetizers and drinks were flowing as we played selections from Big Band, Bossa Nova, and upbeat classics and current hits. After the bride and groom took some outdoor photos, it was time for their introduction and then, they went right into their first dance, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me” by Thompson Square. The coupled swayed beautifully around the dance floor while the flashes from the camera phones encompassed them. Next the Mariachi band came out and played for the next hour while we enjoyed a rare break and the great tasting bell pepper soup, highly recommended by Stephanie.

Once everyone got a chance to eat, the best man, father of the bride and maid of honor gave awesome toasts before the cake cutting. Once that was done, it was our turn to takeover!
We opened up with the timeless classic "Stand by Me" by Ben E King for the Anniversary Dance and right after that we kicked it into overdrive playing something of everything. They let us do our thing with the music and emceeing and we left everything out on the dance floor. As we rocked all kinds of songs and genres from the Classic 60’s through 80's, Country, Latin Music (Salsa, Tejano, Merengue, & Bachata), and then all the way to the current stuff. We closed out the night with some of our favorite party rockers, “OMG”, “Party Rock Anthem”, "Give Me Everything" by Pitbull and to top it off one of the newlyweds friends sang Christina Aguliera's verse to “Moves Like Jagger” word for word while hitting each note perfectly (Watch the video if you don't believe us). This party had it all and the dance floor stayed packed the whole night! The newlyweds posed for pictures behind the turntables and then we sent them on their way with “The Road Goes On Forever” by Robert earl Keen.

Not only was this a great party, but we also worked with some amazing vendors. Shout outs to Monica the coordinator at Ouisie's who was awesome and we can't forget our new found friends who captured all the priceless moments Taylor Lord and Sarah McKenzie! We posted a picture from the engagement session and we can't wait to show off their great work from the wedding!

Take a minute and stop by Taylor's website to check out all her astonishing work from her past sessions displayed on her blog! >>>> http://www.taylorlordphotography.com/
