Monette/Linton Wedding – September 24, 2011

We met Amy at the Austin Bridal Extravaganza that we participated in earlier this year back in June and Amy booked us on the spot! She said she loved our energy and that is one thing we know how to bring plenty of when it comes to the party.

We arrived mid-day on Saturday to the jaw dropping Oasis located on a cliff 450-feet above Austin’s Lake Travis. The Oasis has earned the reputation as Sunset Capital of Texas and we were astonished by how beautiful the sunset looked and the great pictures it provided for Amy & Jason's ceremony. Beth, the Wedding Coordinator, and the Oasis staff were very accommodating. Thanks for letting us use your sub woofers guys it really added depth to the party.

This was a full service wedding for us, meaning we provided the accent lighting, monogram design, and audio for the ceremony and reception. We don’t usually like to toot our own horns, but the navy accent lighting really added a flare to the reception room. (Check out the pics!)

The ceremony was held outside on the balcony overlooking the beautiful Lake Travis and thereafter the guests proceeded inside for cocktails and h'ordeuvres. We prepared and introduced the bridal party to “I Gotta Feeling” by Black Eyed Peas and we had a feeling it was going to be a good night by how energetically the newlyweds entered the room. After the intro, Amy and Jason did their first dance to Rascall Flatts’ “I Won’t Let Go” a song with so much meaning and heart for all of us walking our paths in life! Great pick! The food stations opened right afterwards. Following dinner, we had some great toasts and the lovely cakes were cut. Amy then danced with her dad and Jason with his mom. Next it was party time!

We had 3 hours to fill with dance music, which is a very long set. We were worried, but these folks came to party! What a great response. We were all over the map with the music with a strong focus on the 80’s, country, and top 40. We forgot to get our usual video testimony, but the newlyweds did send us a facebook message letting us know they had a great time!!!

Our friend Khorey Smith of Ai Love Photos road tripped with us from Houston to Austin and recorded the video and took the great pictures! Thanks Khorey and below is a direct link to his website:

Bello/Delilbasic Reception - September 18, 2011

Maria and Mersed's ceremony and reception took place mid-afternoon at Heaven On Earth. This was a very unique wedding as the bride was of latin descent and the groom had just came over a couple of weeks before from Bosnia, Europe. This was our second wedding for the weekend and the guests started arriving right around two. Nilda guided them into the chapel and after the vows were said and the ceremony came to a close and the bride and groom exited in style. Need we mention for the second day in a row it was raining and all of a sudden it stopped long enough for the couple to enter on a horse and carriage. Cinematic!

Uncharacteristically, we'd like to admit for the first time we were kind of worried about the outcome of this Sunday wedding. We knew that alot of the guests were going to want Latin music and believe us, we are no Latin DJ and MC's, but thanks to the many nights spent trying to perfect the latin dances we learned at the local salsa socials in town we were familiar with several songs that encompassed the genre. We told the bride and groom this from the start, but they assured us that everything was going to be alright! Okay, here we go! So, we downloaded alot of the newer Latin stuff on the charts now and then pulled out some of the older material. We were as ready as we could be. The cake was cut and a special toast was given by Maria's little brother and he did a great job.

After that we opened the dance floor. Let us make note the guests amounted to about 50 people total, but they sure knew how to hold the dance floor down for us, especially the women! The bottom line is that it rocked. We played everything from “Suavemente” by Elvis Crespo to “Oye Como Va” by Celia Cruz along with some Prince Royce and Aventura to slow things down a bit. We also touched on some line dances, mariachi and more. We ended the night with a song by Abba, "Fernando" which we dedicated to Maria's father who had passed. It was a great night with alot of international music. We played latin music 90% of the night and are still here to write the blog about it! We are so glad they chose us for their entertainment. It was a challenge, but we think we pulled it off! Check out the pictures below by our buddy Randy Bradley. It's always great working with him and the rest of the staff at Heaven On Earth.

Anderson/Westgarth Wedding - September 17, 2012

Skyler & Richard's reception took place at the unforgettable Augusta Pines Clubhouse. The beautifully decorated dance floor was set up outside of the banquet hall with matching lounge seats alongside an outdoor bar for the guests to mix and mingle. The weather was iffy at first and even right up until the guests arrived it was drizzling, but eventually it cleared up and they were able to have their beautiful outdoor evening reception. We were really hoping the rain would stop, thankfully it did! This is our second time frequenting Augusta Pines within the last couple months and there is something special about the couples who book here. I know you think we say this about everyone, but truly the couples here always have a lot of energy and charisma! Skyler and Richard were no exception their guest came ready to party, party, party and so were we.

The reception began inside the banquet room we lined up the very large bridal party and introduced them to “Marry You” by Bruno Mars, with Richard and Skyler making their entrance into the thunderous applause of the guests awaiting at the bottom of the stairs. Right after Skyler's grandfather gave the blessing the food stations opened up to the guests. The food looked great as always! After the bride and groom made their way around the room they cut the cakes and everyone proceeded outside to prepare for the newlyweds first dance. Their first dance was to VV Browne’s “Crazy Amazing” and then we mixed into "Jai Ho" by The Pussycat Dolls from the Slum Dog Millionaire movie while the bridal party joined the newlyweds on the dance floor! Great choices! We had some great toasts from the two best men and we found out twenty-five of Richard's friends had flown out to Houston from the United Kingdom and this was the first wedding Richard had ever attended. Wow! The parents dances were next and Skyler glided across the floor with her father to "My Girl" by The Temptations and Richard's mother was grinning from ear to ear while twisting, turning, and showing off her great moves to the uptempo "Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder. We proceeded into the couples dance with "When A Man Loves A Woman" by Percy Sledge which was also a song dedicated to Skyler's parents. A big favorite of ours because you can never go wrong with the classics!

Right before the couples dance ended we mixed directly into the Cha Cha Slide to start the night off and from the looks of it some people never got off the floor from then on.We ran through 60′s, 70′s, 80′s, 90′s and current hits with a fury and the crowd was eating it up!  What a ton of energy, hopefully we didn't wake the neighbors! We played a couple of very unique songs like "Blue Hawaii" by Elvis and "The Tennesse Waltz" which was dedicated to the grandparents.

The only time the guest paused to take a step off the dance floor was for the bouquet toss which was to “Single Ladies” by Beyonce and the Groom removed and tossed the garter to “Land of 1000 Dances” by Wilson Pickett. The highlight of the night was when we played "Champagne Showers" by LMFAO. The groomsmen showered the groom with champagne and crowd surfed him all aound the dance floor! (All in good spirit …lol)

This was a great reception and we got to work with some amazing vendors that,Couture Wedding Images and Aaron Harvey Photography out of Las Vegas, Jacqueline Chapelle (who provided the dance floor, lounge seating, and the photo booth), and Susan at the club was great also! This was an exceptional wedding and we can't wait to finish the video for you to see just what we are talking about!

Carter/Cornelious Wedding - September 3, 2011

Jariel and Nicole's reception was absolutely off the hook! This ceremony and reception took place on the west-side of Houston at the lovely Pine Forest Country

Club within the elegant clubhouse and the coordinator Jeannette Arias was great.

We provided the sound for the ceremony which was on the beautifully decorated patio deck arranged by Any Occasions. The parents and wedding party entered into "From This Moment On" by Shania Twain and we switched the song for the bride which she entered in to "Cannon In D". The vows were taken and the newlyweds led the way for the recessional to "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon.

We knew this was going to be a great party just by the way people reacted to the introductions! The bridal party came charging in to Beyonce’s “End of Time”. It was perfect! The crowd went NUTS, and the couple looked amazing. They picked “So Amazing” by Luther Vandross for their first dance and we could almost hear everyone singing along.

The dinner was a great looking buffet and before the guest could proceed to the buffet they had already made their way on the dance floor. We could tell they were getting restless and wanted no more of the “pre-show mix”. It was time for us to do what we did best. We opened up with some great party starters and EVERYONE was on the floor while singing the words to the songs at the same time. Nicole's family hailed from Louisiana and one thing we know about these folks is they know how to partAy!

We played some zydeco, bounce, and 2nd line hits. One song that was unique that we don't usually get to play was "Mr. Magic" by Grover Washington and it had a line dance that we really liked! There were requests for all genres and eras and some of the new hip hop as well. We played it all for about 3 hours straight and the dance floor stayed rocking!

To sum it up, this was a great party due to energetic guests and a great bridal party, and of course great bride and groom.

We loved it and the great pictures are by Janice Jones of Bejay's Photography. Make sure to check out her gallery on her website: http://bejaysphotography.com/
