Landry/Cronin Wedding @ Heaven On Earth (July 23, 2011)

Tim and Dawn’s reception on Saturday was at the lovely, classic, historic Heaven On Earth in the Missouri City. The day started with the ceremony down in the chapel. The guests eventually made their way into the Tiffany Ballroom and we started our work. Soon after, Brian went and prepared the bridal party for the introduction which was to “Come Away With Me” by Nora Jones. Tim and Dawn came in to thunderous applause and went into their first dance, “Bless The Broken Road” by Rascal Flatts …GENIUS choice, one of our favorite country songs. The welcome and formal group pictures led right into a great dinner buffet followed by the cake cutting, parents dances, and toasts. The newlyweds gave Dj Regg a big shout out during the toast because he was dj-ing their wedding on his bday! (Yes, we love what we do!)

At that point, it was turned over to us to do our thing. Before we opened the dance floor we warmed it up with a “Couple’s Dance” to Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight”. You can never go wrong with that one! The couple who won had been married 63 years!!! WOW! We kicked off the evening with some oldies and then moved into Top 40 soon after. What a party! Tim and Dawn left under a cascade of floating bubble and made their getaway into their white stretch limo, timeless. Check out the great pix below from photographer Randy Bradley of Original Images. What a great reception…

Alysia & Cyril Friday's 25th Reaffirmation @ Villa Antonia - Austin, TX (July 22, 2011)

Alysia and Cyril’s reaffirmation was one of the most unique events of the year thus far. They totally went all out with this one! In fact, they booked every service that we have! Ceremony, DJ, Videography,Photo Montage and the Uplighting! The event was at the breath-taking Villa Antonia in Jonestown, TX right outside of Austin. If you haven’t been out there, you should go and check it out. It is gorgeous, originally, Villa Antonia was built as a personal home in 1998. In 2002, as people started asking to be married here, the grounds were expanded to include every amenity and convenience imaginable. Erica the coordinator was very hospitable she let us in early (at 8am even though the venue didn’t open till later) to set up. Thanks Erica!

Let’s start with the ceremony. They picked a great processional by Brian Courtney Wilson “Believe” and “Tamela Mann’s, “Heaven”. As the second song played, Alysia made her way into the chapel descending from the stairs of the bride’s dressing room! It was awesome! The ceremony was lovely and as it came to an end the whole bridal party stepped & swinged down the aisle, as we played Al Green’s, ‘Love & Happiness” for the recessional.

On to the reception! As the reception began inside, cocktails flowed and I could tell it was going to be a good night. We lined up the bridal party outside the draped entryway and brought them into the jazz version of “No One” by Alicia which led into Alysia and Cyril’s first dance which was to Eric Benet & Tamia’s “Spend My Life With You”. After a brief welcome and blessing, the buffet opened and everyone had a great meal. The guest were already swinging out on the dance floor during dinner showing off some of their great moves. We started the night back up with toasts, cake cutting. After that, it was party time! There was a great mix of guests from mature & sophisticated to young & lively. We played everything from Earth, Wind & Fire to the Tootsie Roll. You gotta love that! From the first song to the last, they rocked. We loved DJ’ing and MC’ing this reception and we hope everyone had a great time. Check out the amazing pictures from Khorey Smith of S.E. 317 Studios!

Houston Bridal Extravaganza – July 16 & 17, 2011

This was a very busy weekend for Signature Eventx it started for us Friday morning from picking up the U-Haul and the team didn’t stop moving till Monday morning, when we sat down to write this blog. We participated this past weekend in our second bridal show. This one was the Houston Bridal Extravaganza (Saturday and Sunday) at the George R. Brown Convention Center, produced by Laurette Veres.(She was kind of enough to stop by our booth personally, even with her hectic schedule. Thanks Laurette!) There were hundreds of great vendors there from florists to DJs, and even though it was raining outside on Saturday, the brides still came out!

For this show, we once again tried to top ourselves. Our booth included our djs with two technic turnatables front and center mixing (not just pushing and playing via a computer or ipod) and a custom made canopy over the top of us. We also incorporated two TV displays each at the the front corners of the booth. One with live video dj-ing and we used the other TV to display a video of a wedding we had previously done this year. We played several games of musical trivia with brides and grooms and had plenty people dancing with and around us. We also did alot of uplighting and intelligent lighting which we are now offering. It was a great show and we are glad we did it and are already planning for next year’s! The extravaganza was very well attended, and we actually booked some shows on the spot! Fist Pump!!!

Thanks to everyone that stopped by our booth to show us some love! Check out the video! The great images were provided by our friends My Ultimate Photography.

Samuel/Whitmore Wedding @ Belle Rose Maison (July 9,2011)

Elester and Audrea are an awesome couple. We met them last year through a friend Carista that has been to two of our previous weddings. We clicked and they booked us for their wedding at Belle Rose Maison. We are glad they did!

Audrea’s processional was “Make Me Whole” by Amel Larrieux. A smooth and beautiful song. Their recessional was “There Goes My Baby” by Charlie Wilson. They picked 2 great ones! After the ceremony, guests enjoyed the cocktail hour while the wedding party and family took pictures on the terrace.

The ballroom looked amazing especially since we added our touch with the magenta upligthing. Purples and whites prevailed and our custom dj booth accented the room. We have to say, if you are planning a wedding and can afford it, lighting will set your event apart from everyone else’s. When it gets dark the lights accentuate the room and creates a whole new ambiance! It was very captivating looking from the dj booth down on to the packed dance floor. Check out the video.

They started off with an introduction to “Sure Thing” by Miguel and their first dance was “You” by Jesse Powell a timeless 90’s r&b hit with genuine lyrics. Audrea & Elester are a young, in love couple that couldn’t be more sweet and better together (As stressed by the sister of the bride)

On to the party! From the very start, their friends and family hit the dance floor. They loved line dances and we played them all from the “Cupid Shuffle” to the “Wobble”. We also mixed in some classic slow jams and step music by the Isley Brothers and R. Kelly. We even got to drop some Beyonce for the bride! All the ladies hit the dance floor to circle around Audrea then.

It was a great mix and the crowd ate it up! This was a great wedding reception for sure! The great photos are from our friends at PhotoLyric Imagery.

Signature Eventx – Mccoy/ Brown Reception – July 2, 2011

Michele McCoy and Earl Brown took their vows at Demers Banquet Hall. Both the ceremony and reception were held at the venue. Demers is a very intimate venue and we love the staff at this place. After the ceremony the room was prepared for the reception.

Michael got the bridal party ready for the intros. They came in to the smooth jazz version of “Love of My Life” by Erykah Badu & Common. The couple had a great music selection encompassing various genres with choices from the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s (very eclectic). The guests were on their feet when Michele and Earl finally made their way into the room! They went right into their first dance “Lucky” by Jason Mraz and Colbie Cailat and they sung the whole song to each other while gracefully covering the dance floor. After that we moved to dinner and Earl & Michele were dancing in their seats during dinner and could barely finish their food before they were up on the dance floor. Gotta love that type of couple!

As dinner ended they cut their cake (by Chi of cakemydaybakery.net) to “Let’s Get Married Remix” by Jagged Edge & Run DMC (always a crowd mover). Now the guests were itching to get out of their seats. The bouquet was tossed (“Single Ladies” – BeyoncĂ©) as was the garter (“Touch Me Tease Me” – Case) and then it was time to PARTAYYY! This crowd, for sure, came to get down. We opened up with the Wobble and the dance floor was packed. We promise the ground started to shake (lol), no need for subwoofers the crowd shook the floor enough.

We ended the night with a Louisiana second line song “Casanova” by The Rebirth Brass Band. Michael led them around the hall and had the crowd circle around the newlyweds with the white flags (napkins) twirling around them.

The couple took pictures with us behind our booth and we are super excited about getting these pictures from Jesus of 713 Photography.
